VFAT 2012 Preliminary Registration Thread
(The VFAT 2012 Preliminary Registration Thread will be closed the 1st of October)

In this thread, teams and solo pilots can sign up for participation at VFAT. The 8th Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams will take place the 7th-9th of December 2012.

VFAT 2012 Participation Requirements
From the time of registration until the 30th of October, the participants signed up for VFAT will go through the "Airshow Quality Control".
The Airshow Quality Control is based on two elements. First, we have the VFAT ACE-Standards which is basically a guide for participants with a set of rules. Second, we have the Entertainment Level of the airshow. Both the ACE-Standards and the Entertainment Level will be judged by the VFAT Staff to decide which participants pass the Airshow Quality Control.

There are three ways to go through the Airshow Quality Control:
1: A live show on a private livestream channel.
2: A livestream replay from a previous demonstration at VFAT or other event.
3: A track, though this will reduce the chance of an approval (we will only be able make a judgement by the ACE Standards, not the Entertainment level as we can not judge camera work/music/comms etc.).

VFAT 2012 Registration Form
To signup for VFAT, please post the following information:
(By signing up for VFAT, the participant accepts the fact the display can be rejected by the VFAT Staff, either by not passing the Airshow Quality Control or by not living up to any other requirement (like deadline dates) set by the VFAT Staff.)

3. Simulator: Lock On FC2

4. Team name: Virtual Belgian F16 Solo Display

5. Website / Forum: http://www.virtual-aerobatic-group.nl

6. Number of aircraft and type: 1x F16A Mlu

7. Contact person + email: Wijndel "Wine" Albertsma, wine@virtual-aerobatic-group.nl

8. Camera man + email: Jeroen "Goose" Verhulst, jeroen_verhulst@hotmail.com

9. Country and Timezone: (GMT+1)

10. Information about the team:

The history of the Virtual Belgian F-16 Solo Display Team started in 2010.
Five enthousiastic people - Wijndel "Wine" Albertsma, Richard "Dutchman" Evertse, René "Sawamura" Morlo,
Jan-Petter "Crow" Hovland and Peter "Sweeper" van Woudenberg - did put their minds together to create this virtual demo team.
All of them have different skills in the design or flying of flight simulator fighters.
They operate the popular 'LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2' flight sim.
The F-16 model, designed by Jan-Petter, was first used with the beautiful RNLAF F-16 orange demo paint scheme on it.
The team decided to design the Belgium demo “Vortex” paint scheme onto their existing F-16 model which Richard was going to fly in the virtual sky.
And thus the Virtual Belgian F-16 Solo Display Team was born.
Richard flew the FA-110 registered F16A Mlu in 2010 and 2011 with great skill at VFAT.
In real life the 349 sqn demoteam based at Kleine Brogel was relieved after 3 years by 350 sqn from Florennes airbase.
With the new team came another beautiful demo paint scheme, this time on the FA-84 registered F16A Mlu of the Belgian Air Force.
The team decided to continue the virtual demo with the new design onto their existing F-16 model which "Wine" will fly at VFAT #8.

The show for the 2012 season is completely new. The show demonstrates the limits of the F-16 and of the pilot flying it.
The figures the pilot flies with the F-16 are standard figures which every F-16 pilot within the Belgian Air Force masters.
The difficulty concerning this show is to perform all those figures in a fluent composition.
You can expect the good weather routine ( high show ).

"Wine" was the virtual pilot of the "Flanker C Demo" display at VFAT 2011.

The Virtual Aerobatic Group is very proud and happy about the good relation and friendship between the virtual and real Belgian F16 Solo Display Teams.

Greets, "Wine".
