10. VAT=IRSS= is an independent part of the fight squad IRSS

VAT =IRSS= was based abour 3 years ago, although it a Russian team, there are members from Russia and Ukraine. The membership has changed a few times and now is more or less constant. Age of the pilots varies from 16 till 41. Earlier, the team trained in common with another team. In the sequel both teams united in one project named ‘Wind Rose’.
Now the membership of the team counts 6 people, but there is only one woman .
Earlier, as it was popular those days, the group used to fly on the P-51 Mustang. In the middle of 2011 accepted the Lavochkin La-7 as the basic plane. The La-7 was a veteran of the II World War. Because of it’s  maneuverability, the can perform difficult aerobatics, it’s hard to fly in tight formations.
This is the first group performance on the VFAT.

Virtual Horsemen Flight Lead

WWW
« Reply #26 on: September 29, 2012, 11:13:21 am »

Simulator: DCS World

Team Name: The Virtual Horsemen

Website / Forum: http://www.virtual-horsemen.com

Number of aircraft and type: 2 x P-51D Mustangs

Contact person + email: Rock

Camera man + email: TBC very soon.

Country and Timezone: U.K / Germany (GMT & GMT+1)

Information about the team: The Virtual Horsemen represent the worlds only P-51 Mustang formation aerobatic team: The Horsemen. Flying a tight 2 or 3 ship display, we aim to replicate their display as accurately as possible in a flight simulator. Help and support from the real team since 2009 has enable us to produce the most accurate demonstration possible in the virtual world to date.

#1 Rob ‘Rock’ Brindley

Age: 18

Position: Lead

Member Since: Founder (2008)

A member of the Virtual Horsemen since early 2008, Rob has lead the team from it’s humble beginings. After becoming interested in virtual aerobatics in 2005, he started looking for a formation aerobatics team to fly for and soon found a group of friends interested in getting something together. With no clear guidance or idea, progress was limited until the summer of 2006. ” I met SkyHawk in 2006 when he was flying for the Blue Eagles (it was actually the Blue Eagles that first got me interested in formation flying) and he offered to teach me how to fly”.

At age 14, Rob was accepted as the Right Wing pilot for the Blue Eagles in the November of 2007 and began training regularly with the team. “Being accepted onto the Blue Eagles was a great day. Flying with the guys that first inspired you is a humbling experience to say the least and for me, it started what would become a long term career in Virtual Aerobatics”.

“After The Blue Eagles closed in April 2008, myself and SkyHawk were looking for something else to do. We tried a few things out in different simulators and they just didn’t work. Eventually, I had the idea of putting together the Virtual Horsemen for a video project and after a few intial trainings, it was clear that the team had a lot more potential than a simple video”.

#2 Marc

Age: 22

Position: Right Wing

Marc (22) is a virtual pilot for about 12 years and a member of the team since 3rd May of 2011. When he started flying aerobatics in the simulator “IL2 Sturmovik 1946″ in 2010 he early met the team of the Virtual Horsemen. He was impressed by the shows the Virtual Horsemen and other teams were performing. As they flew on a public server he got the chance to train with them often.

But it challenged him much: “It was hell to me. When I was in position finally it took only a few seconds and then I was thrown out of the formation again because of the next incredibly difficult maneuver.” Three months later positive feedback was given to him by VH-Rock and VH-Skyhawk, which he did not expect. As much more he could not believe he was invited to become a Virtual Horseman in 2011.

Until today Marc has not getting used to his membership yet: “It still feels strange to me when I see this February Mustang flying on the right wing of the leader in a video. I sometimes do not recognize at once that it was me flying it. It is an honour and pleasure flying for the                         Virtual Horsemen.” Marc is looking forward to more flights with the team, because every time it is a challenge he wants to meet and the chance to get more experience while having a lot of fun.

Last edit: Marc's nickname was requested to change
