Hi alls,

thanks to the first rehearsal yesterday, some minor issues were found on the mod/graphics sections, but globally, the mod is working fine. GREAT Mod, awesome work... :o Many thanks to the Jabog32 for their well organised and ready to improvise abilitily!  ;)

After installing the mod using "ModMan6", I noticed lots of graphic failures/ missing textures. The Blue-F/A-18 just misses the ailerons textures while Hawk and L-39 are completely unskinned. Also I can't see anything out of the cockpit in all moded aircrafts.
Maybe conflicts with other textures/modifications?

Ok, some of the Virevolte also faced some minors problems with graphics, let me give explanations on how we solved them just before our flight.

1- UNTICK the cdds option in MODMAN!!!!!!  while installing

2-Kato Mod is using some compressed textures in cdds files. To have these files "active", you need to add lines into Graphics.cfg file to specify the existence and folder where you have these files. So kato had chosen the options to include them directly in a raw/native graphics.cfg file. The counter effect is after installing the mod, your lockon is as he were when a baby in terms of graphics configuration...

So now two options for you. Or you do a saving of your custom graphic.cfg, and you add manually the lines needed like i will detail below, or you install Kato mod and while in the game, you reset your graphic configuration to your habits. Some of us are using external program like LO CFG, to set special size for flat screen, we then need to adjust the graphic.cfg manually by adding the textures directory.

Make sure the following lines are included in your graphic.cfg file, under Texturescollections, your text should be :
...
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VBAbmp.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VBAtga.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VFATbmp.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VFATtga.cdds";
...

IF NOT, add Kato lines if not already included:
TextureCollections
{
highFolder = ".\\Bazar\\TempTextures\\";
common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesBMP.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesTGA.cdds";
spring = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesSprBMP.cdds";
spring = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesSprTGA.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesSumBMP.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesSumTGA.cdds";
autumn = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesAutBMP.cdds";
autumn = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesAutTGA.cdds";
winter = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesWinBMP.cdds";
winter = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesWinTGA.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\MapTexturesBMP.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\Effects\\EffectTexturesTGA.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\TexturesBMP_weapons.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\WorldTexturesTGA2.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\WorldTexturesTGA.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\WorldTexturesBMP2.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\WorldTexturesBMP.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\WorldTexturesBMP1.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\ShipTexturesBMP.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\ShipTexturesTGA.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\CockpitsTexturesBMP.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\CockpitsTexturesTGA.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\Effects\\effects.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\Cockpit-SU25T-TexturesBMP.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\Cockpit-SU25T-TexturesTGA.cdds";
[color=#FF0000:beaa9]common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VBAbmp.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VBAtga.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VFATbmp.cdds";
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VFATtga.cdds";[/color:beaa9]
common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\WorldTexturesTGA1.cdds";
}

I hope this work well, that should solve the texture problem, give me, or us some feed back!
See you this eveving for part two!  :D

I got it to install fine.

One problem with our hornet though...Kato did you edit a file and threw it in there? Because our fuel tanks should say TOMCATTERS(like they do in RL) on them and they dont. And they look like somebody created a new skin.

I found a small mistake in the mod for the Dutch Flanker Display Team.  Under the Netherlands the Mig-29C is still selectable, but it is cancelled. And the Su-27 of DFDT is nowhere to be found.

That is one file I may have missed - I'll put it in the final version of the mod

The numbers on our F-14's arnt visable.

Unless you use the number "99" they should be visible. Other than that, nomera.tga is untouched.

You uploaded an SU-27 and SU-33 skin, but you didn't upload a MiG-29 skin to the ftp - I even emailed to ask for it weeks ago, but there was no reply.

I have been flying both the SU-33 and the SU-27 with your skin in the mod, so I'm not sure why you don't see it. In fact, as I recall, your skin is the only SU-27 selectable for the Netherlands. If you show me a screenshot of the Netherlands payload screen with the SU-27 selected, we can go from there.

Thanks

Thanks for your post above Airone.

To repeat what Airone said, if you use a custom Launch program for Lock On rather than just starting the game normally, it will not load the necessary graphics.cfg file. Those using widescreen formats should definately check this, or do what Airone says above. The mod has to load it's own graphics.cfg file in order to read the lines Airone posted. If I didn't make the mod this way, then all the textures created by the teams (that don't already exist in the game) would have to be put in the TempTextures file, which with the large number of new textures, would create a big framerate hit.

Hi KAto,

I've changed directly in LO the graphics file but this was then unfortunatly still not working. Shoudl it work if I edit the file and then launch LO ?

Here's a first screenshot of my installation. Just made a fresh LOMAC-install but that didn't fix my issues.

The reason that the Mig-29 skin wasn't uploaded is because the pilot Cancelled flying at VFAT. ( He even quit flying completely ) And the problem is that the SU-27 cannot even be selected from the Netherlands aircraft list. The SU-33 is OK though

OK, thanks for the great screenshot - I'll check it when I get home tonight - should be easy to fix for the final VFAT mod.

OK Laud - thanks for the screenshot - should be able to fix that for the final VFAT mod too.

(This problem is because I was creating the mod at my monitor's native resolution of 1600x1200, and having stayed up all night trying to get the mod ready in time for the practice, I forgot to resave the menu screen back to the original Lock On size of 1024x768 at 7am in the morning, sorry)!

Ok, I don't see the L39 textures. Tryed to fix them with what Airone was talking about on the first post of the topic but this did not solve the issue

Please can you copy these two parts of your graphics.cfg file (found in your Lock On/Config folder) to this thread like this:
DisplayMode
{
    resolution = {1600, 1200};
    bpp = 32;
    fullscreen = 1;
    aspect = 1.333333373;
    Interface

    }
    Simulation

    }
    AVI
    {
        resolution = {640, 480};
        fullscreen = 0;
        aspect = 1.3333;

AND...

    highFolder = ".\\Bazar\\TempTextures\\";
    common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesBMP.cdds";
    common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\High\\LandTexturesTGA.cdds";

    common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\Cockpit-SU25T-TexturesTGA.cdds";
    common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VBAbmp.cdds";
    common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VBAtga.cdds";
    common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VFATbmp.cdds";
    common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\VFATtga.cdds";

Also, Manu - how many Patrouille Suisse jets are you actually going to be flying at once during VFAT? If it is less that 6, please let me know, since I need a couple slots for other SU-27 skins.

Thanks
